Hi there,
By now, you’ve probably heard that Zika
virus is quickly spreading across Latin America and the Caribbean.
Carried by mosquitos, sickness from Zika is normally short and mild, but
as the virus continues to spread, there is growing concern that Zika is
linked to birth defects and neurological disorders.
Currently, there are no vaccines or treatments for Zika. This means the best way to prevent the disease is to protect against mosquito bites.
World Help has ministry partnerships and
2,879 sponsored children in countries affected by Zika. Our partner in
Honduras recently contacted us and said, “We have felt helpless in such a
situation of disease outbreaks. There is a significant percentage of
children and families infected in the area. In homes, children do not
have mosquito nets.”
This growing fear is common among our
partners who do not have the resources to purchase thousands of mosquito
nets—one of the most effective ways to prevent mosquito bites.
They are pleading with us to help provide
mosquito nets that can be handed out to expectant mothers and families
in their community. These nets will enable our partners to offer
physical protection while sharing the eternal hope of Jesus Christ.
The future of this disease is
unpredictable. We don’t fully understand what the health and safety
implications for Zika virus will be in the future . . . which is why we
must act now.
Will you help us equip our partners to reach their communities with both protection and a message of hope? Your gift of $25 provides protection for one person. Giving $125 offers safety and peace of mind to an entire family.
Thank you for helping us meet this critical need. We couldn’t do this without you!https://worldhelp.net/giving/
