Being Value

Plopped down in your couch, clicking away on your plasma television remote control, and then you click to a channel, the hunger stricken faces of children fill up your screen, the reporter's voice rings out "these children have been displaced for months now, many saw their parents killed, they have nowhere to go, they  just roam the street hungry and homeless."

For a split second, you stare at the children looking up to the camera with hunted bulging eyes, guilt and shame wash down your body as you glance at the leftover carton of food and bottles of water dumped in your thrash can, you put off the TV and gaze into thin air, you try to imagine what it feels like to watch your parents murdered right before you, to go hungry for days, to have your saliva as your only source of water -- you just cannot imagine it because you have never been in the situation but deep down you feel the pain of those children, a passionate longing fill your heart and mind, you think of ways to do something but it seems there is no possible means to reach them, they are so far away you say to yourself, you are tempted to forget about it, DON'T . . .  there is a means, in fact there are many means, they are not far away as you think, there is that one child in your street, at the park, the church, the prison . . .  at your very corner.

Contributing to providing clean water for the children of Kirinda, Uganda, is one other means. Please take a moment to visit my fundraising page:http://water.worldhelp.net/precious-mmachi.  for them, no amount is too small or big.

Your existence holds no value if you are not a ray of light and hope to those around you.
